New arrivals to DSpoke

Well it's been a busy time since I last posted & had put new builds on hold for a while

The arrival of my son Theodore James Crook on 17th April 2012 & yes he's now over a year old & being a parent is the best job in the world

TJ Crook has the hallmarks of a future frame builder as quoted by a really good friend back in Hackney, London

Thanks Ols he'll ride it in the Olympics one day

It's now June 2013 & we're expecting our daughter to arrive in September 2013

I am still operating DSpoke but just at a slower pace than normal

Every part of the restoration process will involve you making all the key decisions from beginning to end.

Design

Bring your bike back to life whether its a favourite colour or maybe just black & white, pick all the colours of the rainbow if you wish. You design everything and with a range of paint colouring options available you get to design the whole bike from scratch. Coloured parts, frame & forks, there’s so many colour combinations to get those creative juices flowing for sure. Finally it’s bespoke to you so no one else will be riding around on the same bike. Call it DSPOKED

Bring it to me or I can pay you a visit. Once I’ve given your bike the once over I’m happy to provide you with an estimate free of charge whether you just want to repair, restore or design.

All estimates provide will be dependent on customers wishes, ideas & budget.

All work carried out is priced as labour.

All part prices can vary depending on availability from local or international suppliers.

No work will be carried out until customer has agreed upon estimate given by Dspoke.

Painting Options

Powder Coating

Cheaper than spray painting still a very good option to use with 200 colour options including metallic & pearlescent finishes.Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin". The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint.I take all my powder coating projects to a reputable business in Thomastown, these guys have been operating for over 30 years with 3 generations of the family now working together in their workshop it truly is an inspiration to see the finished product. A most popular choice & used by many in the Melbourne bike fraternity wanting to repaint a bike without blowing a hole in their pocket

Spray Painting

With 1000’s of colour options, effects & finishes available on the market the sky really is the limit when it comes to choosing a colour. I always take all my spray painting projects to a good friend of mine in Point Cook who’s a magician with a spray gun. He has over 12 years of experience working at Ford & Porsche as their top painter before finally deciding his painting days on cars was over & bike painting was his passion instead. He’s now fastly becoming Melbourne’s most popular bike sprayer being used by most of the best bike shops in town. What a legend.

Coloured Parts Options

Wheelsets,handlebars, seatposts,cranks, pedals ,tyres, brakes, chains etc etc I can go on. With a wider option of coloured parts now available on the market you can accessorize your bike to your personel style & budget. Just adding a few coloured parts can give your ride a completely radical & fresh look & remember no one else will have the same looking bike as yours.
